Next Meeting January 25, 2012
We will be meeting on Wednesday to discuss the Soup and Salad fundraiser. This is a great fundraiser for our youth group. The money that we raise goes toward, retreats, pilgrimages, and events for the youth group. It is vital that everyone attend and pick a job to do to make sure that we have a sucessful event.
On January 23, our dioceses went to Washington DC to participate in the March for Life. This event is crucial to show our government that we value all forms of life. Since 2010, I have attended this event. So this year not being a part of it was very hard. I really missed not being their as a voice of what we as Catholic's stand for.
As a group we must stand for what is right. We must stand up and protect those that can not protect themselves. We must stand up in our faith and do what God wants us to do. So I challenge each and every youth group member to make the commitment to attend the March for Life in 2013. To attend the event for just one year. I promise you, that once you attend, you will grow in your relationship with God and desire to attend the next year.
Another focus is that we also need to grow spiritually in our faith. Attending retreats will be the main focus of this group as well. We need to be the best followers of Christ that we can be.
God is Good! All the time!!

Next Meeting on January 18, 2012
I have decided that we will not meet on December 21. I appreciated the that youth helped decorate the church on December 14. However, what I did not appreciate is the way they did. When in church we must respect the Eucharist and the presence of Christ and be reverent. The leaders work very hard and give up time away from their families and home to be with the youth. All we ask is for the respect that when asked to do something or to stop a behavior that it gets done.
I love being part of the church and have always enjoyed being part of the youth group. Together we can accomplish amazing things. In the beginning, the leaders wanted a place where the youth can be with each other, learn about our faith and be a part of something that can make a difference. Having fun is also top on our list!! Today, that is still our goal.
So as we look to the new year and new challenges that we face. Let's keep in mind that we are part of God's plan and we must give our lives to Him.
As soon as we get together in the new year, we have planning to do with our fundraising events.
Mass Every Sunday!!
Feb 12 - Soup and Salad bar
Feb 19 - 21 Destination Jesus - if we have anyone interest. This is a great experience to develop your relationship with God and to better understand our faith with over 700 other high school students.
May you have very blessed Christmas Season and Happy New Year.

Happy Thanksgiving
On Wednesday, November 23, the youth group will be celebrating Thanksgiving with a party. Food will be provided. (Sloppy Joes) so bring some chips, pop or something that you would like to share. We are very thankful for all of the support that we have received over the years. We are in our 4th school year as a group. We will be meeting from 6pm until 8pm.
Reminder that we will not be meeting on November 30. The leaders need a little break.
December 11 is the parents afternoon out. We will be watching the kids from 11:15am until 3:30pm. Hopefully this will be a successful event. However, this year we are asking to have at least 10 registered children. If not we will be canceling the event.

Paintball - Event - November 13
We are going Blast Camp in Hobart for a round of paintball competition. For fear of everyone attacking me, I believe that I will be taking a pass so that I can capture every moment in pictures. Since this is an expensive outing we are asking that everyone bring the permission slip and $30 to youth group on Wednesday. I have already taken care of the deposit and we need to have at least 10 people to get the group rate.
We will be leaving after the 10:30am Mass. Bring a lunch with you. We will return around 5pm and meet at the church parking lot for pickup.
Mark your calendars... We will be hosting Parents afternoon out on December 11. The children can be dropped off after the 10:30am Mass and we will be available until 4pm. We need everyone to help with this event.
Reminder that we meet on Wednesday at 6pm - 7:30pm. Bring frozen pizzas to share!

Thank you!!
May 22 at 5:30pm the youth group will host a pot luck dinner to say thank you. This is an opportunity for the youth group to thank our supporters for their contributions and making this youth group such a big success. This is the last time we will be meeting this years. however we are looking as opportunities to get together over the summer. There will be a change for next year. We found out that Wednesday evenings worked better for the group as a whole. So watched the blog and the church bulletin for details.
